We need it to celebrate the joy of falling in love; the delight of sexual expression; the intimacy of body on body and flesh on flesh. We may also need it because everyday life has become stressed, or mundane, or de-eroticized. Yes, of course it’s possible to have great sex at home on the weekends, too. Many of us adore this relaxed time together. But not all of us. Spare a thought for the businessman or woman who can’t spare much time off, or for the parents of young children - how do you ever get way from the little darlings? You can’t. So my message is, if you can possibly afford it, set up temporary cover in the office or baby-care arrangements at home, and escape. Every couple should do this, on average every six weeks.
